Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Arborist Assistant to join our team in Abu Dhabi, focusing on the energy sector. The ideal candidate will support arborists in maintaining the health and safety of trees and vegetation that are vital to our operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in arboriculture and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist certified arborists with tree maintenance tasks, including pruning, trimming, and felling trees when necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of trees and vegetation to assess health, growth, and structural integrity.
- Participate in the implementation of tree health assessments and care plans, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices.
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment used in tree care, such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Assist in the identification and treatment of tree diseases and pest infestations, including the application of appropriate treatments as directed by the lead arborist.
- Collaborate with team members to carry out planting, transplanting, and site preparation activities as part of landscape management and restoration projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document work performed and assist in preparing reports regarding tree conditions, maintenance activities, and recommendations for future care.
- Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities to enhance knowledge of arboriculture practices and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in horticulture, forestry, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably working with trees and landscaping.
- Knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and common diseases and pests affecting trees in desert environments.
- Familiarity with the tools and equipment used in tree maintenance and landscaping.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A valid driver's license is required; a commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.
