Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Manager to oversee our data center operations in Ajman. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient management of our data center infrastructure, optimizing performance, enhancing security protocols, and supporting the growing data needs of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center management, a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, and experience within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the data center, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of all systems and services. Implement best practices in data center operations and management.

- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.

- Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and backup solutions.

- Capacity Planning: Monitor system performance and capacity to anticipate future needs, ensuring adequate resources are available to support ongoing and upcoming construction projects.

- Security Management: Establish and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and protect against unauthorized access. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure quick recovery of services in case of unforeseen events.

- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and procure data center equipment and services. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships to ensure service excellence.

- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the data center budget, monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center operations, policies, and procedures.

- Innovation and Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within data center operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data center management or a related field, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience in team leadership and project management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with data center security standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and vendor relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience with cloud services and hybrid environments.
