Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Import/Export Analyst to join our dynamic team in Sharjah within the education sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our import and export processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating the smooth flow of educational materials and resources across borders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Management: Oversee and manage the import and export processes for educational materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to various educational institutions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international trade regulations, customs laws, and educational material import/export policies.
- Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain all necessary shipping and customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import/export permits.
- Data Analysis: Analyze import/export data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost reduction; prepare reports for management review.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure accurate tracking of educational materials and resources in transit.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with import/export operations, including delays, damages, and compliance issues.
- Communication: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding import/export inquiries and issues, providing timely updates and resolution.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve import/export processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on import/export procedures and best practices within the education sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 8 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and logistics software; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
