Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mining Safety Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, focusing on the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of personnel engaged in mining operations, particularly those related to agribusiness extraction processes. The Mining Safety Engineer will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Program Development: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs tailored to the unique challenges of mining operations in the agricultural sector.

- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of mining sites to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, standards, and best practices. Stay updated on changes in legislation and industry standards.

- Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring they understand safety policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols.

- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into safety incidents and accidents, analyzing root causes and developing strategies to prevent recurrence. Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to management.

- Safety Equipment Oversight: Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and personal protective gear suitable for mining operations. Ensure proper maintenance and usage of safety equipment.

- Collaboration: Work closely with management, health and safety committees, and external regulatory bodies to promote a culture of safety within the organization.

- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness among staff.

- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze safety data to track performance metrics, identify trends, and develop strategies for continuous improvement in safety performance.

- Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the safety budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mining safety engineering, with a focus on agricultural applications.

- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices related to mining operations.

- Certification in safety management or related fields (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.

- Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

- Proficient in using safety management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
