Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Engineer Assistant to join our dynamic team in the transportation and logistics sector. This role will support the Packaging Engineering team in developing, optimizing, and executing packaging solutions that enhance product safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in packaging design and materials, along with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the design and development of packaging solutions for various products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Packaging Engineer to conduct material evaluations, testing, and analysis to determine the most effective packaging options.
- Support the creation and maintenance of packaging specifications, including dimensional drawings, material descriptions, and assembly instructions.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address packaging-related challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Aid in the preparation of packaging prototypes and samples for internal and external testing and presentations.
- Conduct research on new packaging technologies, materials, and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
- Assist in the development of cost-effective packaging strategies that align with sustainability goals and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all packaging projects, including design changes, testing results, and project timelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Packaging Engineer or management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in packaging design, engineering, or a related area, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Proficiency in packaging design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and their properties (e.g., plastics, corrugated, glass).
- Familiarity with packaging testing methodologies and standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
