Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation of tax returns and related documentation.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure internal controls are in place.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project accounting and financial planning for various energy-related initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support in accounting principles and practices.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes that may impact the organization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (CPA, ACCA, etc.) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate environment, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
