Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) specialized in Information Technology to join our esteemed organization in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in administrative law, IT regulations, and dispute resolution. This role is critical in ensuring fair and impartial hearings, making determinations based on the evidence presented, and interpreting complex legal and technical issues related to the fast-evolving field of information technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal hearings and adjudicate disputes related to administrative law in the information technology sector, including but not limited to software licensing, cybersecurity, data protection, and technology-related contracts.
- Analyze and interpret laws, regulations, and policies governing the technology industry to apply them appropriately in decision-making processes.
- Review and evaluate evidence, testimonies, and legal arguments presented by involved parties, ensuring adherence to procedural fairness and due process.
- Draft detailed legal opinions, decisions, and orders based on findings, ensuring clarity and adherence to legal standards.
- Collaborate with legal teams, IT professionals, and stakeholders to stay updated on current trends, legal precedents, and emerging issues in technology law.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on regulatory compliance and best practices for organizations within the IT sector.
- Facilitate alternative dispute resolution processes where applicable, including mediation and settlement discussions.
- Prepare and present training sessions on administrative law and technology regulations for industry professionals and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive records of proceedings and decisions, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the IT industry and proactively adjust practices to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 8 years of experience in administrative law or a related field, with a strong emphasis on information technology.
- Proven expertise in interpreting and applying laws and regulations relevant to the IT sector.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience in adjudicating disputes or conducting hearings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with international IT standards and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and technology applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in mediation or alternative dispute resolution.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, with an understanding of Dubai's legal landscape and business practices.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage, but not mandatory.
