Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Animal Trainer Assistant to join our dynamic team in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will assist in the training and care of a variety of animals within a retail environment, providing customers with knowledgeable support and enhancing their experience. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the head trainer in developing and implementing training programs for various animals, including but not limited to dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals.
- Support the daily care and handling of animals, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
- Conduct training sessions under the guidance of the head trainer, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach basic commands and behavioral skills to animals.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns regarding health, behavior, or training progress to the head trainer.
- Educate customers on proper animal care, training techniques, and product recommendations to enhance their pets’ well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the animal training area and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
- Assist in preparing animals for demonstrations or events, ensuring they are comfortable and well-behaved in public settings.
- Collaborate with team members to create engaging in-store events that promote animal training and education.
- Stay updated on the latest training techniques, animal behavior theories, and products in the retail pet industry.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding animal care and training.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal behavior, training, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with animals in a training or care capacity.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and training methods, particularly positive reinforcement techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina to lift and handle animals of various sizes and to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing the highest standard of care.
