Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal Trainer Assistant to join our team in Al Ain, specializing in the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the training and management of animals used in research and development. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare, training, and the pharmaceutical field.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the daily care and management of animals, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
- Support lead trainers in the development and implementation of training programs for various animal species.
- Participate in behavioral assessments and monitor animal progress throughout training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of animal training activities, health, and behavior responses.
- Help prepare animals for experiments, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other staff to address any health concerns or behavioral issues.
- Clean and maintain animal housing facilities to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist in the transportation and handling of animals as required for research purposes.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge about animal training and welfare.

Qualifications:

- A degree or diploma in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with animals, preferably in a training or research environment.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and training techniques.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Compassionate and patient approach to animal care and training.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with specific animal species used in pharmaceutical research (e.g., rodents, rabbits, dogs).
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols and animal handling procedures.
- Basic knowledge of animal health and nutrition.
- Proficiency in using computer software for record-keeping and data management.

Working Conditions:

- The position may require working in various environments, including laboratories and animal housing facilities.
- Occasional lifting and handling of animals may be required.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed, including weekends or holidays.
