Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Application Support Manager to join our team in Dubai's energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing application support services, ensuring the optimal performance and functionality of our software applications. This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance user experience, streamline processes, and implement solutions that align with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership and Management:
- Lead a team of application support specialists, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to ensure high performance.
- Develop and implement support processes and procedures to improve efficiency, response times, and user satisfaction.

- Application Support:
- Manage day-to-day application support activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and user support.
- Ensure timely resolution of application issues and provide root cause analysis for recurring problems.
- Oversee the deployment of application updates, enhancements, and patches.

- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external vendors, to address application needs and challenges.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all application-related inquiries and support requests from end-users.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical issues into understandable terms.

- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor application performance metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on application support activities, trends, and improvements to management.

- Project Involvement:
- Participate in application selection, implementation, and upgrade projects to ensure support and operational readiness.
- Work with project managers to define support requirements and service level agreements (SLAs) for new applications.

- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing application usability and functionality based on user feedback and industry best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies relevant to application support in the energy sector.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or IT support roles, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of software applications commonly used in the energy industry.
- Experience in leading and managing teams effectively.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and methodologies is a plus.
- Understanding of database management and basic SQL skills are desirable.
