Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Art Historian Assistant to join our dynamic team in Dubai, specializing in the Aerospace and Defense sectors. The successful candidate will support the documentation, research, and preservation of artistic works and artifacts related to aviation and defense history, contributing to exhibitions, educational programs, and collections management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and Documentation: Assist in the research and cataloging of artworks, artifacts, and historical documents related to aerospace and defense. Compile and organize comprehensive historical data, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

- Collection Management: Aid in the maintenance and management of the collection, including inventory control, condition reporting, and ensuring proper storage and display of artifacts.

- Exhibition Support: Collaborate with senior historians and curators in the development and installation of exhibitions. Assist in designing informative displays and writing interpretive materials that highlight the significance of the artworks within the aerospace and defense context.

- Educational Outreach: Participate in the creation of educational programs and materials that promote understanding of the intersection between art, aerospace, and defense. Assist in organizing workshops, lectures, and guided tours for various audiences.

- Publications and Presentations: Contribute to the writing of articles, exhibition catalogs, and other publications. Assist in preparing presentations for conferences, symposia, and other professional gatherings.

- Networking and Collaboration: Build relationships with artists, historians, museums, and institutions both locally and internationally. Attend relevant exhibitions, lectures, and events to stay informed about current trends in art history and aerospace.

- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the art history team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in art history, museum work, or a related field, preferably within the context of aerospace and defense.

- Strong research skills and familiarity with art historical methodologies.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with collection management software.

- A keen interest in the intersection of art, history, and technology, particularly in relation to aerospace and defense.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
