Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Assistant Janitor to join our team in the education sector in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Janitor in performing daily cleaning tasks in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas within the educational facility.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
- Participate in routine inspections of facilities and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Head Janitor.
- Support the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas, ensuring that cleaning supplies are adequately stocked.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and reporting issues with fixtures and fittings.
- Assist in the collection and disposal of waste materials, ensuring compliance with local environmental regulations.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests as needed, including spills or accidents that may occur during school hours.
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all building occupants.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings as required to enhance cleaning skills and knowledge of best practices.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in janitorial or custodial services, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleaning tasks.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
