Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Botanical Illustrator to join our team in Dubai. As a Botanical Illustrator, you will play a crucial role in our agricultural initiatives by creating accurate and aesthetically pleasing illustrations of plants for educational, research, and promotional purposes. Your artistic talent combined with a solid understanding of botany will help us communicate vital information about plant species, their characteristics, and their uses in agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

- Illustration Creation: Produce high-quality botanical illustrations that accurately depict various plant species, including their flowers, leaves, stems, and fruits. Illustrations should be suitable for both scientific publications and marketing materials.

- Research: Conduct thorough research on plant species to ensure accuracy in your illustrations. This includes studying botanical texts, herbarium specimens, and field observations.

- Collaboration: Work closely with agricultural scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders to understand their illustration needs and incorporate feedback into your work.

- Presentation Preparation: Prepare illustrations for presentations, publications, and exhibitions, ensuring they meet the required standards for clarity and professionalism.

- Digital Illustration: Utilize digital illustration tools and software to create and enhance botanical images, ensuring that they are optimized for various formats and platforms.

- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of your research and illustrations, including sources, sketches, and digital files, to facilitate transparency and reproducibility.

- Education & Outreach: Participate in educational initiatives, workshops, and public outreach events to promote knowledge of botany and agriculture through your illustrations.

- Trend Awareness: Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in botanical illustration and related fields to continuously improve your skills and adapt to new technologies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Botany, Horticulture, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in botanical illustration, with a strong portfolio showcasing your artistic style and technical skill.
- Proficiency in traditional and digital illustration techniques, including knowledge of software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar programs.
- Strong understanding of plant anatomy, taxonomy, and ecological relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Familiarity with agricultural practices and sustainable farming methods is a plus.

Other Information:

- This position may require occasional travel to agricultural sites or botanical gardens for fieldwork and research.
- Candidates should be prepared to provide a portfolio that demonstrates their skills and experience in botanical illustration.
