Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead our risk management function within the transportation and logistics sector. The CRO will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our organization's risk management framework, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the transportation and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Risk Management Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Establish risk management policies and procedures to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks across all areas of the business.

2. Risk Assessment:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential risks that may impact the organization’s operations, reputation, and financial standing.
- Analyze risk trends and provide insights to the executive team and the board of directors.

3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards related to transportation and logistics.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and auditors regarding risk management and compliance issues.

4. Crisis Management:
- Develop and maintain crisis management and business continuity plans to address potential disruptions in operations.
- Lead the response to incidents and crises, ensuring effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

5. Risk Culture:
- Foster a risk-aware culture throughout the organization by promoting risk management principles and practices at all levels.
- Provide training and support to staff on risk management best practices and the importance of compliance.

6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with senior management, operational teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that risk considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
- Present risk reports and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.

7. Performance Metrics:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management framework.
- Regularly report on risk management performance to the executive team and recommend improvements as needed.

8. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the risk management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of risk management personnel.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, or equivalent) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years and up to 8 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field, preferably within the transportation and logistics sector.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks relevant to the transportation and logistics industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and operate effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing and developing teams.
