Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computer Scientist to join our dynamic team in the pharmaceuticals sector located in Dubai. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative computational solutions that enhance drug discovery, development, and production processes. This role combines advanced knowledge in computer science, data analysis, and an understanding of pharmaceutical processes to drive research and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research & Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement algorithms and computational models that support drug discovery and development processes. Engage in research projects that enhance our understanding of biological systems through computational approaches.

- Data Analysis & Management: Analyze large datasets generated from experiments and clinical trials using statistical and machine learning techniques. Develop data management protocols to ensure data integrity and accessibility for various stakeholders.

- Software Development: Create and maintain software tools and applications that facilitate the analysis of pharmaceutical data. Develop user-friendly interfaces for researchers and scientists to interact with complex datasets.

- Technical Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to staff on computational tools and methodologies. Assist in troubleshooting software and data issues, ensuring smooth operational workflows.

- Collaboration: Work closely with biologists, chemists, and clinical researchers to translate scientific questions into computational problems. Participate in team meetings, presenting findings and contributing to strategic discussions on research direction.

- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, methodologies, and software development processes. Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, summarizing research findings and technological advancements.

- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in computer science and pharmaceuticals, including emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements. Attend relevant conferences and workshops to enhance professional development.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in computational science, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data visualization tools.
- Strong background in statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies.
- Familiarity with laboratory processes, drug development, and regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
