Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Drug Safety Associate to join our dynamic team in the retail sector. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products distributed through our retail channels. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacovigilance processes, regulatory requirements, and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Adverse Event Reporting: Monitor, collect, and evaluate adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported by healthcare professionals and customers. Ensure all reports are documented accurately and submitted within the required timelines.

- Data Management: Maintain comprehensive records of drug safety reports, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal and external regulatory standards. Utilize pharmacovigilance databases to track and analyze safety data.

- Risk Assessment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the risk-benefit profile of products. Conduct safety signal detection and contribute to risk management plans.

- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local and international regulations related to drug safety and pharmacovigilance. Ensure that all safety activities align with regulatory requirements and company policies.

- Training and Support: Provide training and support to retail staff on drug safety practices, reporting procedures, and the importance of pharmacovigilance. Promote a culture of safety within the organization.

- Communication: Liaise with healthcare professionals, regulatory authorities, and internal teams regarding safety issues, providing timely updates and clarifications as necessary.

- Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic safety update reports (PSURs) and other regulatory submissions as required. Assist in the preparation of safety-related documentation for audits and inspections.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in drug safety processes and contribute to the development of best practices. Participate in internal audits and contribute to corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years and up to 7 years of experience in drug safety, pharmacovigilance, or a related field, preferably within a retail or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong knowledge of local and international pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a strong ability to interpret data.
- Proficient in using pharmacovigilance databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
