Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Manager to join our dynamic team in the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainable environmental practices to enhance our agricultural operations while ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of environmental management systems, agricultural practices, and a commitment to promoting sustainability within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sustainability Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement environmental sustainability strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s goals.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact within agricultural practices.

2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards relevant to agricultural operations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards, advising management on necessary adaptations.

3. Environmental Impact Assessments:
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new and existing agricultural projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.

4. Data Management and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and report on environmental data, including emissions, waste management, and resource usage.
- Prepare environmental reports for management and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

5. Training and Awareness:
- Develop and implement training programs for staff on environmental policies, practices, and sustainability initiatives.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness among employees at all levels.

6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders on environmental issues and initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and forums, promoting our commitment to sustainability in agriculture.

7. Research and Development:
- Stay updated on the latest environmental technologies, practices, and trends in agriculture.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate innovative solutions for sustainable agricultural practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the agriculture sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and agricultural operations.
- Proven experience in conducting environmental assessments and audits.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and environmental management software.
