Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Operations Manager to join our team in Dubai, specializing in the Aerospace and Defense sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our operations align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals while supporting our commitment to excellence in aerospace and defense.

Key Responsibilities:

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international environmental regulations, particularly those relevant to the aerospace and defense industry. Stay abreast of changes in legislation and advise management on necessary adjustments to operational practices.

- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement environmental sustainability programs that promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation within all operational processes.

- Environmental Audits: Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations for management.

- Risk Management: Evaluate environmental risks associated with operational activities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning.

- Training and Awareness: Lead training sessions and workshops for staff on environmental policies, best practices, and compliance requirements. Foster a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders. Facilitate communication and cooperation to address environmental concerns and enhance the company’s public image.

- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental performance. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

- Resource Management: Oversee the management of environmental resources, including waste disposal, recycling programs, and hazardous materials handling, ensuring safe and compliant practices.

- Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to incorporate environmental considerations into project designs and operational plans, ensuring adherence to environmental standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (such as ISO 14001) is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and best practices applicable to the industry.
- Proven experience in conducting environmental audits and assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with environmental management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
