Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Operations Manager to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will spearhead our environmental initiatives within the financial services sector, ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations while promoting sustainable practices across the organization. This role demands a strategic thinker who can integrate environmental considerations into our operational framework, fostering a culture of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations in the UAE and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports and documentation to regulatory bodies.

2. Sustainability Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement an environmental sustainability strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend sustainable practices that reduce the environmental impact of operations.

3. Environmental Risk Assessment:
- Conduct thorough assessments of environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate the environmental impact of new projects and initiatives.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s environmental programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental inquiries and concerns.

5. Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of environmental awareness throughout the organization.

6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports on environmental performance for senior management and stakeholders.

7. Sustainable Procurement:
- Collaborate with procurement teams to establish sustainable sourcing practices and evaluate suppliers based on environmental criteria.

8. Project Management:
- Lead and manage environmental projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful environmental initiatives.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
