Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Operations Manager to oversee our agricultural operations in Al Ain. This role will be pivotal in managing farm activities, ensuring optimal production, and maintaining the highest quality standards for our retail products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in farm management, an understanding of retail agricultural practices, and a passion for sustainable farming.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management:
- Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest processing.
- Develop and implement operational plans to enhance productivity and efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and sustainability standards.

2. Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and mentor farm staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Schedule and coordinate work assignments to ensure effective use of resources.

3. Production Planning:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and align production schedules accordingly.
- Monitor crop growth and yield, adjusting practices as necessary to meet quality and quantity targets.

4. Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all products meet retail standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of crops and facilities, addressing any issues promptly.

5. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
- Analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions to improve profitability.

6. Sustainability Practices:
- Promote and implement sustainable farming practices that minimize environmental impact and enhance biodiversity.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in agriculture and sustainability.

7. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and local community members.
- Represent the farm at industry events and forums, promoting our products and practices.

8. Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, creating a safe working environment for all staff.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and safety training programs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, pest management, and sustainable farming practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in data analysis and budget management.
- Familiarity with retail operations in agriculture is an advantage.
