Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations within our educational institution located in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence and a deep understanding of the unique needs of a diverse educational community. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities to enhance the dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring smooth service and high-quality offerings that meet the expectations of our educational community.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with chefs and food service staff to design and implement innovative menus that cater to various dietary requirements and preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-free options.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the food and beverage budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure profitability while maintaining quality.
- Staff Training and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor food and beverage staff, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain standards for food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in compliance with local health regulations and institutional policies.
- Customer Service Excellence: Engage with students, faculty, and staff to gather feedback and continuously improve the dining experience, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
- Supplier Management: Manage relationships with food and beverage suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure quality products at competitive prices.
- Event Management: Assist in planning and executing catering services for special events, meetings, and functions held on campus, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable practices within the food and beverage operations, including waste reduction, sourcing local ingredients, and implementing eco-friendly initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably within an educational or institutional setting.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and enhancing service quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse community.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food service operations.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
- A passion for food and beverage trends, with a creative approach to menu development.
