Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Genetic Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in the Consumer Goods sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the research, development, and production of genetically engineered products that meet consumer needs while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct laboratory experiments to develop and optimize genetic engineering techniques for improving product quality and safety.
- Assist in the design and implementation of genetic modification protocols, including gene cloning, sequencing, and expression analysis.
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, preparing comprehensive reports for presentation to senior management.
- Monitor and analyze genetic engineering processes, troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain project timelines.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in genetic engineering and biotechnology to drive innovation within the company.
- Participate in training and mentoring junior staff and interns in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in genetic engineering or molecular biology within the consumer goods sector or a related industry.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques related to genetic engineering, including but not limited to cloning, sequencing, and gene expression analysis.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety protocols in laboratory settings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues across various departments.
- Proficiency in laboratory software and data analysis tools.
