Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histotechnologist to join our educational institution in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting research and teaching in the field of histology and pathology. The Histotechnologist will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality in all laboratory procedures. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the education of future healthcare professionals and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and process tissue samples for histological examination, including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Maintain and operate various laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Perform routine and specialized staining techniques, including immunohistochemistry, to facilitate accurate diagnosis and research.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers to support teaching and research initiatives, including the preparation of slides and other histological materials.
- Conduct quality control and assurance checks on all histological preparations to meet regulatory and institutional standards.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and institutional protocols.
- Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in histotechnology and histopathology to enhance educational offerings.
- Provide training and support to students and staff on histological techniques and laboratory practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
- Certification as a Histotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent) is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in histotechnology or a related laboratory setting.
- Proficient in various histological techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality control measures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in an educational setting is a plus.
