Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Horticulturist Assistant to join our dynamic team in Dubai’s retail sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in plants, gardening, and landscape design, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role involves supporting our horticulturists in the management of plant care, sales, and customer education to enhance the shopping experience for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the horticulturist in maintaining the health and appearance of plants, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Help in the setup and maintenance of plant displays in the retail environment, ensuring they are visually appealing and promote plant sales.
- Provide knowledgeable advice to customers on plant selection, care, and maintenance, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of plants and gardening supplies, reporting any stock shortages or issues to the horticulturist.
- Assist in the propagation of plants and the cultivation of new stock as directed by the horticulturist.
- Participate in the planning and execution of seasonal promotions, events, and workshops related to horticulture and gardening.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and engaging shopping experience for customers.
- Stay updated on horticultural trends and best practices to provide relevant information to customers and enhance the retail offering.

Qualifications:

- A degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail horticulture or gardening environment.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, including pests, diseases, and proper horticultural practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive, enthusiastic attitude towards learning and sharing knowledge about plants and gardening.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
