Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Juvenile Correctional Officer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will work in a secure facility focused on rehabilitating young individuals who have been involved in the justice system. This role requires a unique blend of law enforcement, counseling, and educational skills to promote positive behavior and assist in the development of life skills among juveniles. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including social workers, educators, and mental health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision and Safety: Maintain a safe and secure environment for juveniles in the facility. Monitor daily activities, ensuring compliance with facility rules and regulations while actively preventing disturbances and conflicts.

- Behavior Management: Implement behavior management techniques and strategies to encourage positive behavior and discourage negative actions among juveniles. Use effective communication to de-escalate situations when necessary.

- Counseling and Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to juveniles, helping them cope with their situation. Offer appropriate counseling to encourage personal growth and development.

- Educational Programs: Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate learning opportunities for juveniles. Assist in the development and implementation of educational and vocational programs that promote skill development.

- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of juvenile behavior, incidents, and progress. Prepare reports for management and other relevant authorities as required.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, mental health professionals, and law enforcement, to create individualized care plans for each juvenile.

- Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and crises effectively, employing appropriate intervention techniques to protect juveniles and staff.

- Community Liaison: Foster relationships with community organizations and families to support juveniles' reintegration into society upon release.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications in juvenile justice or counseling are a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a correctional, educational, or social services setting, particularly with juvenile populations.
- Strong understanding of juvenile rehabilitation, behavior modification techniques, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with juveniles and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage challenging behaviors effectively.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to juvenile justice is an advantage.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred.
