Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lactation Consultant Assistant to join our dynamic team in the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will assist lactation consultants in providing expert support and guidance to new mothers and families on breastfeeding practices, ensuring a positive and healthy breastfeeding experience. This role is crucial in promoting the benefits of breastfeeding and supporting maternal and infant health.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist lactation consultants in providing individualized breastfeeding education and support to mothers before, during, and after childbirth.
- Conduct assessments of breastfeeding techniques and provide feedback and recommendations to mothers to ensure effective latch and feeding practices.
- Help maintain accurate records of patient progress and outcomes, documenting any issues or concerns related to breastfeeding.
- Educate mothers on the importance of breastfeeding, proper nutrition, and infant care, including the use of breast pumps and storage of breast milk.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including nurses and pediatricians, to ensure comprehensive care for breastfeeding mothers and infants.
- Facilitate breastfeeding support groups and workshops, fostering a supportive community for new mothers.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in lactation support to provide evidence-based information to clients.
- Assist in the development of educational materials and resources for mothers and families.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to mothers facing challenges with breastfeeding.
- Participate in training and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in lactation consulting.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Family Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certification as a Lactation Consultant Assistant or equivalent experience in maternal and child health.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a healthcare or maternal support role, preferably with a focus on lactation or breastfeeding.
- Strong understanding of breastfeeding techniques, maternal and infant nutrition, and lactation physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a genuine desire to support mothers and families.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
