Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Microbiologist to join our team in Abu Dhabi within the construction sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for studying microorganisms that could potentially affect construction materials, processes, and overall project integrity. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality and safety of materials used in construction projects, as well as in mitigating microbial risks that could lead to structural failures or health hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct microbiological assessments of construction materials, including concrete, soil, and aggregates, to identify any microbial contamination or degradation.
- Develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate the impact of microorganisms on the durability and strength of construction materials.
- Analyze samples from various construction sites to detect harmful bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms that may compromise the integrity of structures.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and quality control teams to provide insights on microbial risks and recommend preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests, findings, and analyses, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in microbiology as it pertains to construction and materials science.
- Provide training and guidance to construction personnel on microbial-related issues, including proper handling and storage of construction materials.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments to monitor microbial activity and its impact on ongoing projects.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations of findings to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in microbiology, with a focus on industrial applications, preferably within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of microbial behavior, testing methods, and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with construction materials and their properties is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-specialists.
