Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mine Safety Specialist to join our team based in Abu Dhabi. This role combines expertise in mine safety protocols with a strong understanding of information technology applications in the mining sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest safety standards are met in mining operations and leveraging technology to enhance safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and protocols to comply with national and international mining safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments of mining operations to identify potential hazards and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement technology solutions that enhance safety monitoring and reporting, including software applications and data analytics tools.
- Provide training and support to mining staff on safety procedures, emergency response plans, and the use of safety technologies.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards, and prepare reports for management on safety performance and incidents.
- Analyze data from safety monitoring systems to identify trends and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
- Act as a liaison between the mining operations team and IT department to ensure safety needs are met through technological enhancements.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in mining safety regulations and technology trends to continuously improve safety practices.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Mining Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine safety, with a strong emphasis on the integration of technology in safety practices.
- Familiarity with mining operations, safety regulations, and risk management principles.
- Experience working with safety management software and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex safety data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver training and presentations effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in safety monitoring, such as IoT devices and AI applications in mining.
- Experience in project management and leading safety initiatives.
