Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in Dubai's fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and performance for our retail operations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and strong customer service skills to support our retail staff and enhance the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patch management on network hardware and software.
- Conduct periodic network assessments to identify and resolve potential vulnerabilities.

2. Technical Support:
- Provide expert-level technical support to retail staff for network-related issues, including Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN access, and network security.
- Respond promptly to support requests via helpdesk tickets, phone calls, and in-person visits.

3. Installation and Configuration:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and deployment of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate new technologies and systems into the existing network infrastructure.

4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions for management review.

5. Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of all network services.
- Provide training and support to retail staff on network-related tools and best practices.

6. Network Security:
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance network security and performance.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 7 years of experience in a network support role, preferably within the retail sector.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with retail-specific software and systems is a plus.

Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
