Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in the construction industry based in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment, and implementing effective safety programs across various construction sites. This role is critical in preventing accidents and ensuring the well-being of all employees and contractors on site.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify potential hazards.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety practices into daily operations and project planning.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety regulations, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment and ensure all safety measures are properly utilized on-site.
- Stay updated on industry trends, developments, and legislation related to occupational health and safety.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and stakeholders regarding safety compliance and best practices.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety data sheets, and safety meeting minutes.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization through awareness campaigns and proactive communication.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in the construction industry.
- Professional certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and practices specific to the construction sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in risk assessment and safety management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
