Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in the Information Technology sector in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our employees. This role involves assessing workplace hazards, developing safety policies, and implementing safety training programs to comply with local regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular assessments and inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety matters.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and accident reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate health and safety practices into organizational processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance to management.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and assist in developing safety improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably within the Information Technology sector.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficient in conducting safety training and workshops.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
