Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team in a retail setting in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient care while assisting ophthalmologists in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. As a crucial member of our eye care team, you will ensure that patients receive high-quality service in a friendly and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist ophthalmologists in various clinical procedures, including comprehensive eye examinations, refractions, and specialized tests.
- Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition.
- Educate patients on ocular health, contact lens options, and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and test results, in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to ensure optimal patient flow and care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
- Conduct administrative tasks as needed, including inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in ophthalmic technology and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or certification in Ophthalmic Technology or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a clinical or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of ocular anatomy, common eye conditions, and ophthalmic procedures.
- Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional patient care.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic or other languages is a plus.
