Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Optometric Technician to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, specializing in integrating advanced information technology solutions into the field of optometry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting optometrists in providing exceptional eye care services, ensuring that patients receive high-quality assessments and treatments using state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by performing preliminary tests, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and refraction assessments, using automated and manual equipment.
- Operate and maintain advanced optometric diagnostic instruments, including autorefractors, keratometers, and visual field analyzers.
- Record and manage patient information and history in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide technical support in the integration of IT solutions within the optometric practice, including troubleshooting equipment and software issues.
- Educate patients on the use and care of contact lenses and glasses, as well as explain the results of examinations and tests in an understandable manner.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage follow-up visits, and coordinate with the optical dispensary for lens and frame selections.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and ensure optimal patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometric technology and software, recommending improvements to enhance practice efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and in working order.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge in optometric technology and patient care.

Qualifications:

- Associate's degree in Optometry, Ophthalmic Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health record systems and optometric diagnostic equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude with a keen interest in integrating IT solutions into healthcare practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of contact lens fitting and care is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
