Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed radiation therapists in administering radiation treatments to patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and safety standards.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, ensuring that all machinery is functioning properly and sanitized for patient use.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on radiation equipment and report any malfunctions or discrepancies to senior staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatment plans, progress, and any side effects observed during therapy sessions.
- Provide compassionate support to patients undergoing radiation therapy, addressing their concerns and providing information about the treatment process.
- Collaborate with medical staff, including oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize treatment plans and improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in the education and training of new staff and interns regarding protocols and procedures related to radiation therapy.
- Stay current with advancements in radiation therapy technology and techniques, actively participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and institutional policies related to radiation safety and patient care.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Technology, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting as a Radiation Therapist Assistant or in a similar role.
- Certification from a recognized professional body in radiation therapy or radiologic technology is preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in using radiation therapy equipment and related technologies.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and patient management software.

Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
