Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Railroad Conductor to join our dynamic team in the consumer goods sector. The Railroad Conductor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across our rail network, contributing to the seamless supply chain process that supports our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Train Operation: Operate and manage trains, ensuring they run on schedule and within safety regulations. Monitor train speed and adhere to established safety protocols at all times.

- Cargo Management: Oversee the loading and unloading of consumer goods, ensuring that cargo is secured and properly documented. Work closely with the logistics team to coordinate shipments and track cargo status.

- Safety Compliance: Conduct pre-departure inspections of trains and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Identify and report any safety hazards or mechanical issues to maintenance teams.

- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the train crew, operations center, and customers. Provide updates on train status and any potential delays to ensure transparency and effective communication.

- Customer Service: Interact with clients and stakeholders, addressing any concerns related to cargo transportation. Ensure a positive experience for all customers by providing prompt and courteous service.

- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of train movements, cargo details, and any incidents that occur during transit. Prepare reports as required for management review.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other train crew members, including engineers and brakemen, to ensure efficient operations. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance operational knowledge and safety practices.

- Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to implement emergency procedures in the event of an incident or unexpected situation. Conduct regular drills and training to ensure readiness.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in transportation, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a railroad conductor or in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of railway safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using technology and software related to railway operations and cargo management.
