Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Operations Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols within our consumer goods operations in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of health and safety regulations in the consumer goods sector. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, compliance with legal requirements, and the implementation of best practices in safety management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Management System Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety management system in line with local regulations and industry standards.
- Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.

2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
- Collaborate with department heads to analyze and mitigate risks associated with operational processes.

3. Training and Development:
- Design and deliver safety training programs for all employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness through continuous education and engagement initiatives.

4. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies, highlighting trends, compliance issues, and areas for improvement.

5. Compliance Audits and Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections within the facility to ensure adherence to safety standards and policies.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies during compliance audits and inspections.

6. Safety Performance Monitoring:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for monitoring safety performance across operations.
- Analyze safety data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.

7. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills and simulations to ensure readiness.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and other stakeholders to enhance response capabilities.

8. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to promote safety best practices and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and issues within the organization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of local health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Professional certifications in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs.

Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
