Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Technology to lead our technology initiatives in the education sector. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions that enhance the learning experience and operational efficiency of our educational programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in educational technology, strategic planning, and team management, coupled with a passion for improving educational outcomes through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals in the education sector. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for technology integration and innovation.

- Technology Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of educational technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), student information systems, and other digital tools that support teaching and learning.

- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with faculty, administrative staff, and external partners to assess technology needs and ensure that solutions are user-friendly, effective, and aligned with educational standards.

- Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology department’s budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.

- Project Management: Oversee technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Use project management best practices to track progress and report on outcomes.

- Research & Development: Stay abreast of emerging trends in educational technology and assess their applicability to the organization’s objectives. Lead initiatives to pilot and scale new technologies and methodologies.

- Data Security & Compliance: Ensure that all technological solutions comply with relevant regulations and standards for data protection and privacy, maintaining the integrity and security of student and institutional data.

- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of technology initiatives in enhancing educational outcomes. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology leadership role within the education sector, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and teams.

- Strong understanding of educational technology trends, tools, and best practices.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute operationally.

- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.

- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices in educational settings.
