Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Firmware Developer to join our dynamic team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for innovative consumer goods products. As a key contributor, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance user experience and product performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement high-quality firmware for consumer electronics, ensuring that it meets performance, reliability, and usability standards.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with hardware components, including microcontrollers, sensors, and communication modules.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of firmware to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test plans.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Work closely with product management to define and refine firmware requirements based on market needs and customer feedback.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in firmware development and consumer electronics.
- Mentor and guide junior firmware developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues reported by customers or internal stakeholders.
- Support the product development lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery of firmware updates and enhancements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in firmware development, with a proven track record in consumer goods or related industries.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly language.
- Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and microcontroller architectures.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
- Solid understanding of hardware-software integration and debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of security best practices in firmware development is a plus.
