Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on advancing innovations in the transportation and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering principles, data analysis, and research methodologies, with a particular emphasis on improving transportation systems and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research & Development:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in transportation and logistics, focusing on optimization, automation, and sustainability.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of transportation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research needs and opportunities within the organization.

2. Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and modeling tools to assess transportation systems, logistics processes, and operational performance.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions and research directions.

3. Project Management:
- Lead and manage research projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed project proposals, budgets, and timelines, and present findings to stakeholders.

4. Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with industry partners, academic institutions, and government agencies to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Communicate research findings and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, and publications.

5. Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and researchers within the team.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in transportation and logistics, integrating new knowledge into ongoing research efforts.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 8 years of relevant experience in transportation systems, logistics engineering, or a related domain.
- Proficiency in data analysis software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R) and modeling software (e.g., AnyLogic, Simul8).
- Strong understanding of transportation principles, logistics strategies, and supply chain management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
