Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Developer to join our dynamic team in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex SQL databases and reporting solutions that support our financial operations and analytics. This position requires a deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and data modeling, as well as experience working with large datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Database Development: Design, implement, and optimize SQL database structures, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support business requirements.

- Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance by identifying and resolving issues related to query optimization, indexing, and system resource utilization.

- Reporting Solutions: Develop and maintain reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar tools to provide timely and accurate financial reports.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business analysts, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration of database solutions within the overall architecture.

- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures to ensure clarity and compliance with best practices.

- Data Governance: Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory standards in the financial services industry.

- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior developers and team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the development team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL development, with a strong focus on database design, performance tuning, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL programming, stored procedures, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with database management systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with financial services data, including knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices, is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
