Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team in Dubai, specializing in the Aerospace and Defense sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, with a focus on maintaining and optimizing complex IT infrastructures. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of our systems, as well as implementing best practices in security and compliance within the aerospace and defense domains.

Key Responsibilities:

- System Management:
Manage, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and availability of services.

- Infrastructure Design:
Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions tailored for aerospace and defense applications.

- Security Compliance:
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO) and government regulations by implementing security measures and conducting regular audits.

- Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve system issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring high availability of systems.

- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and system recovery in case of failures or breaches.

- Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.

- User Support and Training:
Provide technical support to end-users and conduct training sessions to enhance user efficiency and understanding of systems.

- Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, networking, and application development, to support overall organizational goals.

- Project Management:
Participate in IT projects, providing input on systems architecture and resource requirements to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within the Aerospace and Defense sector or a related field.

- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.

- Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred.

- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
