Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wildlife Technician to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting wildlife conservation efforts and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of wildlife within the region. The Wildlife Technician will work closely with various stakeholders, including conservation organizations, government agencies, and logistics teams, to monitor wildlife populations, conduct field studies, and assist in the safe relocation and transportation of wildlife.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Field Research and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular field surveys to monitor wildlife populations and their habitats.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on wildlife behavior, distribution, and health.
- Assist in the development of wildlife management plans and conservation strategies.

2. Wildlife Transportation:
- Coordinate the safe transportation of wildlife, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Prepare and maintain transportation equipment and facilities, ensuring they meet safety and welfare standards.
- Conduct pre-transport assessments to ensure the health and well-being of animals being relocated.

3. Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with conservation groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote wildlife conservation initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on wildlife research findings and transportation activities.
- Assist in educational outreach programs to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and transport logistics.

4. Data Management:
- Maintain accurate records of wildlife observations, transportation processes, and conservation efforts.
- Utilize technology and software for data collection, management, and analysis.

5. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all wildlife handling and transportation activities comply with local, national, and international wildlife protection laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in wildlife legislation and conservation policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Zoology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in wildlife management, conservation, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of wildlife behavior, ecology, and conservation issues, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula.
- Experience in the logistics of wildlife transportation and handling is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

- Excellent observational and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in challenging field conditions, including variable weather and terrain.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25 kg.
- Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods and in remote locations.
