Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Zoning Assistant to join our team in Sharjah, focused on agricultural zoning and land use planning. The successful candidate will assist in the development, implementation, and management of zoning regulations and policies related to agricultural practices. This position is crucial in ensuring that agricultural land is utilized efficiently while adhering to local zoning laws and promoting sustainable land use.

Key Responsibilities:

- Zoning Analysis and Research:
- Assist in the analysis of zoning laws and regulations applicable to agricultural land use in Sharjah.
- Conduct research on best practices in agricultural zoning and land management, including environmental impact assessments.
- Gather and compile data on land use, agricultural practices, and zoning compliance.

- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare reports, memos, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders regarding zoning issues and land use planning.
- Maintain accurate records of zoning applications, decisions, and compliance assessments related to agricultural projects.

- Permit and Application Management:
- Assist in the review and processing of zoning permit applications for agricultural projects.
- Coordinate with local government agencies, landowners, and agricultural developers to facilitate zoning applications and compliance.

- Community Engagement:
- Support outreach efforts to educate the agricultural community about zoning regulations and sustainable practices.
- Attend community meetings and hearings to provide assistance and gather feedback from stakeholders regarding zoning matters.

- Field Inspections:
- Conduct field inspections to assess compliance with zoning regulations and agricultural practices.
- Work alongside other team members to identify potential zoning violations and recommend corrective measures.

- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure integrated land use planning.
- Assist in the development of zoning maps and land use plans that promote agricultural growth and sustainability.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in zoning, land use planning, or a related agricultural field.
- Knowledge of local zoning laws and agricultural regulations in the UAE is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with GIS software is a plus.
