Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Clerk Assistant to support our finance team in managing and processing the accounts payable functions within the aerospace and defense sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and assisting with monthly reconciliations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision and compliance are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

- Invoice Processing:
- Review, verify, and process invoices from suppliers and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and contractual agreements.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to facilitate accurate payment.

- Payment Processing:
- Assist in preparing payment runs, ensuring that all payments are made accurately and on time.
- Monitor accounts for discrepancies and resolve any issues related to outstanding invoices.

- Vendor Management:
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving payment disputes.
- Update vendor information and maintain accurate records in the accounting system.

- Reconciliations:
- Assist in month-end reconciliations of accounts payable and prepare related reports.
- Support the finance team in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all accounts payable transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with local regulations and international standards pertinent to the aerospace and defense industry.
- Maintain organized files for all accounts payable documentation, including invoices, receipts, and payment records.

- Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on accounts payable activities as requested by management.
- Provide input for improving accounts payable processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA) are a plus.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.

- Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with vendors and team members.

- Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to the aerospace and defense sector is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
