Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Airport Security Officer with a strong background in Information Technology to ensure the safety and security of the airport environment. This role involves the implementation and monitoring of security protocols related to IT systems, surveillance technologies, and data protection measures. The ideal candidate will work closely with airport authorities, IT teams, and law enforcement agencies to maintain a secure and efficient airport operation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Monitor security systems and surveillance technology to identify and respond to potential security threats.
- Conduct regular checks of surveillance equipment, ensuring all systems are operational and effective.

2. IT Security Protocols:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies to safeguard sensitive data and airport information systems.
- Regularly assess and update security measures related to information technology to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.

3. Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to security incidents, utilizing technology to assess and mitigate threats.
- Document and report incidents, ensuring all information is recorded accurately for future reference and analysis.

4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with airport management, IT departments, and external agencies to develop and improve security strategies.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings to discuss security updates, threats, and best practices.

5. Training and Awareness:
- Provide training to airport staff on IT security protocols and procedures.
- Raise awareness among employees about potential security risks and how to identify suspicious activities.

6. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international security regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular audits of security processes and IT systems to ensure adherence to established protocols.

7. Emergency Preparedness:
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans related to IT security incidents.
- Participate in drills and training exercises to prepare for potential security breaches.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in airport security, IT security, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of security systems, surveillance technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with local and international aviation security regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to inform security operations.

Preferred Skills:

- Certifications in Information Technology security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
- Experience with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Knowledge of incident response frameworks and disaster recovery planning.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
