Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in the energy sector in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the financial operations of our organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements, ensuring all entries are correctly classified and recorded.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, ensure timely payments to suppliers, and manage incoming payments. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in payroll processing by ensuring all employee hours and expenses are accurately recorded and reported in compliance with local labor laws.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis on variances and potential financial risks.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and any other applicable taxes, and assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and support the internal and external audit processes by providing necessary financial information and reports.
- Office Administration: Support general administrative tasks as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the energy sector or a related industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as local financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members and external partners.
