Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead our retail development initiatives in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving growth, enhancing market presence, and developing innovative strategies to elevate our retail operations. Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive retail development strategies aligned with the company’s vision and market trends.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities and new market segments.
- Lead the expansion of the retail portfolio through new store openings, relocations, and renovations.

2. Market Analysis & Feasibility:
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the retail sector.
- Oversee feasibility studies for new locations, ensuring alignment with financial targets and brand standards.

3. Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including landlords, business partners, and local authorities.
- Negotiate leases and contracts with a focus on favorable terms and conditions for the organization.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure cohesive execution of development projects.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure that product offerings align with market demands and customer preferences.

5. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Provide guidance and support in the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of team members.

6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of development initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

7. Innovation & Trends:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in retail development.
- Identify opportunities for innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in retail development, real estate, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Strong understanding of the retail landscape in Dubai and the broader Middle East region.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing operational details effectively.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
