Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated City Planner to join our dynamic team in Dubai, focusing specifically on the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of urban planning expertise and a strong understanding of the financial landscape, ensuring that our city’s development aligns with economic growth and sustainability. This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations, to create vibrant, economically viable urban spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Urban Planning and Development:
- Develop comprehensive city plans that integrate financial services infrastructure with residential, commercial, and public spaces.
- Conduct land-use analyses and assess the impact of proposed developments on the financial services sector.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with government entities, real estate developers, financial institutions, and community groups to gather input and ensure alignment with city planning objectives.
- Facilitate public consultations and workshops to engage the community in the planning process.
- Policy Development:
- Assist in the formulation of policies that promote sustainable urban growth and enhance the financial services industry within the city.
- Review and recommend zoning regulations, building codes, and land-use policies to support economic development.
- Research and Data Analysis:
- Conduct research on demographic trends, economic indicators, and market conditions affecting the financial services sector.
- Analyze data to inform strategic planning decisions and provide recommendations to enhance the city’s economic vitality.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage urban development projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and community needs.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, and report on outcomes to stakeholders.
- Sustainability Initiatives:
- Promote environmentally sustainable practices in urban planning and development, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Integrate green spaces and sustainable transportation options into city planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on financial services or economic development.
- Strong understanding of zoning laws, building regulations, and financial services industry trends in Dubai and the UAE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in GIS software and urban planning tools.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable plans.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of sustainable urban development practices.
- Experience in project management and community engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is highly desirable.
