Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Customs Officer Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Aerospace and Defense sector in Dubai. The successful candidate will support the Customs Officer in ensuring compliance with local and international customs regulations, facilitating the import and export of goods, and maintaining accurate documentation for all transactions. This role is critical in ensuring that all customs processes are conducted efficiently and in accordance with the highest standards of regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Customs Officer in the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation for customs clearance and compliance.
- Maintain an organized filing system for customs documentation, ensuring that all records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
- Monitor and track shipments, ensuring timely clearance through customs and addressing any issues that may arise during the process.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including shipping companies, freight forwarders, and government agencies, to facilitate smooth customs operations.
- Conduct research on customs regulations and procedures related to the Aerospace and Defense sector to ensure compliance with local and international laws.
- Assist in the classification of goods and determination of applicable tariffs to ensure accurate duty payments.
- Support the Customs Officer in conducting audits and inspections of imported/exported goods to identify any discrepancies or compliance issues.
- Provide administrative support to the Customs Officer, including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and maintaining correspondence.
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and industry best practices to recommend improvements to existing procedures.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge of customs regulations and compliance procedures.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in customs operations, logistics, or a related field, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in customs software and tools, and familiarity with the UAE customs environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
