Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Deaf Interpreter to join our dynamic team in the construction sector in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between deaf and hearing individuals on construction sites, ensuring that all parties understand safety protocols, project details, and any other relevant information. This position requires a strong understanding of construction terminology, safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and clear interpretation services during meetings, briefings, and training sessions for deaf employees and stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between deaf individuals and hearing colleagues, ensuring that all information is conveyed effectively.
- Interpret conversations and presentations related to construction processes, safety instructions, and project updates.
- Assist in the development of accessible communication materials, including visual aids and written documentation.
- Stay updated on construction industry terminology, practices, and safety regulations to ensure effective interpretation.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and safety officers to ensure that deaf employees are fully informed and integrated into the team.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures, providing interpretation services as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interpreting situations.
- Attend relevant training and development sessions to enhance interpreting skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies, Interpreting, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NAD, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in interpreting, with a focus on the construction industry preferred.
- Proficient in various sign languages and adept in the use of interpreting techniques.
- Strong understanding of construction terminology and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by project needs.
